UK SEO - Search Engine Marketing (SEM)

Remember when it was all so simple?

To many of who have been using the Internet for long enough, we can remember the days when directories were compiled purely (or at least, primarily) by human folk – yes they were.

That seems so hard to believe nowadays when you think of the billions of pages that exist online – with millions more being added every hour of every day. But that's all we had and we used them every day without any thought for the sore typing fingers who rummaged through an endless barrage of new URL submissions day after day.

The birth of the 'bots'

Over time though, it proved to be totally ineffective – which led to the birth of the 'bots', the most popular bot is our friendly 'Google-Bot' who kindly pops by (well, crawls really) our websites frequently (unless he/she has fallen out with your website for any reason) and keeps all the indexed data up to date for everyone to find.

Not too many years ago, we referred to 'e-commerce' as still being in it's infancy and many people still (unbelievably) asked the question 'will it catch on?' - well, I think it's a safe bet that it will (did) and it will be around for the foreseeable future.

Some went broke, many got rich

Those who benefited most from the transition to search engines and this super-duper thing called e-commerce were those who could see the trend developing a mile away and made an immediate effort to capture greatness of high search  engine positioning/rankings.

But there's always a spoil-sport

Unfortunately, like everything, the SPAMMERS and Black Hat SEOs came along and spoilt it by manipulating the search engines and spoiling the fun. They found the search engines' weaknesses and pounced on them with no remorse. This forced many people to seek out new ways of sorting through websites and content and keeping it all relevant to their searches....

What next?

Social Bookmarking

So today, that method or relevant linking and sharing bookmarks is called 'Social Media Networking' or 'Social Media Bookmarking (SMB)', or it's shorter version of 'Social Bookmarking'.

Although I consider SMB, blogging, Squidoo(ing), facebook(ing) etc., to be a bit 'techie' lots of web users (that's a lot of people) are relying on social bookmarking services with increasing regularity. And so, once again, those who position/rank/promote themselves to take advantage of the transition to this new information sharing and retrieval can increase revenues by tapping almost virgin territory.

Are you ready to jump on the bandwagon?

I'm not a huge fan because I see it as manipulating the 'next big thing' but, believe me, millions of website owners will be pouncing on it right now and long into the future – so why not you?

Give me a call today and let's sort out a bespoke package that gets you promoted where people are sharing and linking and bookmarking.

The internet these days is about Communities, Conversations and Interactions... I know you don't have time for all that, which is why you've got my number. You concentrate on turning your new customers into profit and leave the finding of even more customers to me.
