Why Hire Me?

I've been involved in websites since 1996 and have always told clients that content should come first. How many listened? Well, back then, not many. Most people were too hung up on 'what the web can do' and wanted the latest gizmo and the flashy dooflips and all the latest wizardry - until. . .

Now they see what I was saying. Now, although I could easily say "I told ya so", I get more and more people contacting me with one main goal; to have more content and make their website 'findable', 'usable' and 'informative'; ultimately, those website owners who were initially hooked on 'bells and whistles' are realising that their typical web site designer, through lack of business, sales and marketing experience, hasn't got a clue about what sells and what performs in the web of today.

Some call it Web 2.0 which I think is total crap.

It's the web the way it should have been 10 - 15 years ago.

Nothing has changed. It just grew up and we all stopped messing about with the latest flashy content and started to appreciate how the web works. You see. . .

People don't "go to a website" like we hoped they would way back when. Internet users expect to search for a phrase and be provided with the most relevant link to the most relevant content and they hope that the first (second or third) link they click will, in fact, provide them with everything they need to know about whatever they searched for - and - if it's a product or service, provide them with enough knowledge about not only the product or service itself, but about the supplier.

Searches should find Relevant links to Relevant web sites or pages which contain Relevant content. . . Content that answers questions, informs and converts 'readers' into 'customers'.

No flashy 'bells and whistles' loaded website will do that in a way that is universally accepted. If you've got information to share then share it. Don't force website users to install the latest plugin or have the very latest browser version - you're not boss - the visitor is.
