Lincoln Website Designer
| Services - Website Designing |
Why Hire Me? That's a good question. There are dozens of decent website designers in Lincoln and throughout Lincolnshire - so why bother with anything I have to say?
Well, first and foremost I'm not a typical website designer. I have no interest in 'wowing' you with the latest 'client pleasing' graphic heavy, bandwidth hungry template. . . No, my interest is helping you get more customers. . .
If you want to pay some photoshop expert a couple of grand to 'design' something that will flop to the bottom of the top 1000 in Google and fail miserably at converting what traffic it gets into customers - there are an endless supply of guys (and girls) who can do that. Just pop over to google and type in a few vague phrases and you'll find them - singing through their flashy websites and behind their stupid and pointless splash-screens and flash presentations that should be confined to the PowerPoint presentations.
No. That's not entirely why you should hire me. The main reason is that I've been there, done that and, had it not been for a lousy ecommerce site, I may even have bought the t-shirt. But there's more...
I've been involved in websites since 1996 and have always told clients that content should come first. How many listened? Well, back then, not many. Most people were too hung up on 'what the web can do' and wanted the latest gizmo and the flashy dooflips and all the latest wizardry - until. . .
Now they see what I was saying. Now, although I could easily say "I told ya so", I get more and more people contacting me with one main goal; to have more content and make their website 'findable', 'usable' and 'informative'; ultimately, those website owners who were initially hooked on 'bells and whistles' are realising that their typical web site designer, through lack of business, sales and marketing experience, hasn't got a clue about what sells and what performs in the web of today.
Welcome to Lincoln business websites in 2009.
Some call it Web 2.0 which I think is complete crap.
It's just the web, the way it should have been, 10 - 15 years ago.
Nothing has changed. It just grew up and we all stopped messing about with the latest flashy content and started to appreciate how the web works. You see. . .
People don't "go to a website" like we hoped they would way back when. Internet users expect to search for a phrase and be provided with the most relevant link to the most relevant content and they hope that the first (or maybe the second or third) link they click will, in fact, provide them with everything they need to know about whatever they searched for - and - if it's a product or service, provide them with enough knowledge about not only the product or service itself, but about the supplier.
Searches should find Relevant links to Relevant web sites or pages which contain Relevant content. . . Content that answers questions, informs and converts 'readers' into 'customers'.
No flashy 'bells and whistles' loaded website will do that in a way that is universally accepted. If you've got information to share then share it. Don't force website users to install the latest plugin or have the very latest browser version - you're not boss - the visitor is.
Why should you hire me to develop or fix your Lincoln business website?
Well, remember the T-Shirt? I know what works.
But, before you rush to dial my number, I must tell you; there is no magic one size fits all formula! There is no 'magic solution' (I don't care how many blogs and 10-step website design checklists suggest otherwise) and you will, most likely, learn a few things about your Lincoln website that you maybe didn't want to hear. What there is though, is...
Proven strategies and techniques that work, time after time, website after website. Eventually your competition and, most likely, every man and his dog, will jump on the band-wagon and try writing website content that works. Most will get their new found 'knowledge' from free (BS) newsletters and free blogs (BS) and self-proclaimed experts (BS) - will you?
