Search Engine Optimisation Scam 3 | Website Marketing Scam Tests | SEO Scams

This experience is about an SEO company, who offered to provide an in-depth website review, analysis and recommendations.

  • This was not a free assessment.

  • This was not a free quotation.

  • This was a paid analysis of the client's website.

The purchase was made at fee agreed of just short of £100, but only after the “client” exchanged numerous e-mails with the SEO consultant confirming that

  • The report would not be vague.

  • The report would highlight, specifically, what the client should do to their website.

  • The report would not be full of jargon and SEO slang.

  • The report would be self-explanatory and easy to follow.

  • The information on the report would be easy to implement on the website by somebody with very little knowledge or experience.

The report took approximately 3 weeks to arrive and was about as vague as making a statement saying “your website needs search engine optimisation”.

  • It was vague.

  • It did not include specific instructions for the client.

  • It did not specify what they should do and what they could do right now.

In fact, it did not answer their “clients” requirements or questions at all. It basically told the client what he already knew, which was the reason he asked for a report in the first place.

Obviously this was a website that was designed in such a way that we knew what the website needed, so even some very basic suggestions would have been so easy to include and just may have made the report somewhat more useful. But that report could have been adapted with very, very few cuts and pastes - for any company. You could simply change the name and address on that report and send it to almost any website owner and charge another £95 each time.

What I don't understand is why took the “SEO Consultant” three weeks to do a report that we could do in 10 minutes.

Another £95 spent on website marketing, with zero results.

Actual value: £0.00
