SEO Scam Test – Number One
| SEO Scams - Website Marketing Scam Tests |
The first test was in response to countless telesales calls, claiming that they found the “clients'” website on page 27 of Google, (for example). Search phrases that they were referring to were almost irrelevant to that particular website, but they were putting on the pressure sell as they always do, claiming to be Google resellers or working on behalf of Yahoo!.
Following several of these telephone calls, I suggested that a “client” accept one of their offers at a cost of £300 upfront payment - but I insisted that they only accept their offer if they don't pay another penny until they see traffic as a result. This particular SEO Consultant company took the £300 deposit, and “we” never heard from them again. Never!
£300 spent on Search Engine Optimisation and zero results.
Actual value: £0.00
