SEO Scam Test – Number One

Website Marketing Scam Tests
SEO Scams | Why is the world so full of rip-offs and cons

The first test was in response to countless telesales calls, claiming that they found the “clients'” website on page 27 of Google, (for example). Search phrases that they were referring to were almost irrelevant to that particular website, but they were putting on the pressure sell as they always do, claiming to be Google resellers or working on behalf of Yahoo!.

Search Engine Optimisation Scam 2

Website Marketing Scam Tests
SEO Scams | Why is the world so full of rip-offs and cons

Using an existing clients website, I opted for a listing in a so-called highly ranked directory that supplied directory feeds to multiple “top-ranked and extremely popular” directories online. SEO Scams | Why is the world so full of rip-offs and cons

This experience is about an SEO company, who offered to provide an in-depth website review, analysis and recommendations.

Now any decent SEO Expert will tell you that Google is not a fan of 'doorway' pages or micro-sites that simply lead web users to the main site. The reason is that 'doorway' pages and micro-sites are usually keyword-rich (keyword spamming) pages that are designed for SEO purposes and have very little relevance to the searches – except excessive use of keywords.

Another search engine optimisation scam

Website Marketing Scam Tests

I was speaking today to a company who is producing an online directory. I was representing a client, sitting in on the meeting between them and a salesperson. This salesperson was in charge of developing the "one and only Lincolnshire directory" online, claiming that they will deliver new customers to every one of their listed businesses and in doing so, he explain about the hundreds (if not thousands) of people who are listed on their directory. And, that they get thousands of hits from the top search engines every day.
