Quick SEO Tips - Keywords and Keyphrases
Many many years ago it was relatively straight-forward to design a website around a single keyword and get decent positions in the top search engines. You could, for example, design a website and get high positions for 'property' or 'mortgage' but, lets face it, thise days are long gone, but that is not a bad thing.

Single words are not targeted. Remember that. I'll say it again:

Single words are not targeted. They do not target your specific market. You may sell 'property' or you may arrange 'mortgages' but surely you want someone looking for property to be a bit more specific about what they are actually searching for?

Let me tell you: They do! People don't go to Google and search for 'property', they go to Google and search for 'rental property' or 'property to rent in Birmingham'. What that tells you is that your website needs to be optimised for phrases that people are actually going to search for.
